Spotlight deal inspection skill
Last updated: September 3, 2026
This skill lets Claude pull full deal data from Spotlight and present it as a single interactive widget — deal info, qualification scores, gaps, recent meetings, and the power map — instead of plain text. It gives sales and success teams a fast, visual read on deal health without leaving the conversation.
When it triggers
"Inspect deal", "show me deal status", "how is [deal/account] doing"
"what's the MEDDIC status", "review my deal", "deal health"
"open action items", "what's missing on [deal]", "walk me through [deal]"
Any request for a full picture of an opportunity, especially when a deal or account name is mentioned alongside review, status, or inspection intent
Requirements
Spotlight MCP tools getDeal and searchMeetings must be connected for this skill to work.
How it works
Identify the deal — asks which deal or account if none is named, then pulls full qualification and contact data. If several deals match, it lists them and waits for confirmation before continuing.
Fetch recent meetings — pulls the three most recent meetings for the deal before rendering anything, so meeting data is ready up front.
Render the widget — builds an interactive view in six zones: deal header with account, owner, stage, close date, and score cards; a qualification table (MEDDIC/MEDDICC/MEDDPICC/BANT, detected automatically) with expandable evidence per component; open gaps and next actions; expandable meeting cards with summaries and transcript links; a power map of contacts and an engagement/sentiment bubble chart when contacts exist; and quick-action buttons to dig into a gap, draft a follow-up, or compare deals on the account.
Offer next steps — closes with a short note inviting the user to click into evidence panels, expand meetings, or use the action buttons.
Notes
Internal Spotlight/CRM IDs stay hidden unless someone asks for them.
Early-stage deals with no qualification data yet still render, with a note about limited signal.
If no meetings are found, that section is left out and noted rather than shown empty.
Internal or engineering meetings are flagged clearly so they aren't mistaken for customer engagement.
