Setup Glean to as an MCP Host for Spotlight.ai

An administrator can set this up using the following steps:

1. Register Spotlight.ai in the Glean Admin Console
  1. Log into your Glean environment and open the Admin Console.
  2. Navigate to Platform → Actions.
  3. Click Add, then choose Import tools from MCP server.

2. Configure the Connection Details
  • MCP Server Name: Enter a clear name, such as Spotlight.ai .
  • Description: Provide a quick description (e.g., “Provides opportunity and meeting insights from Spotlight.ai.”).
  • MCP Server URL: Enter https://app.spotlight.ai/v1/api/mcp
  • Transport Type: Select Streaming HTTP or SSE.
  • Authentication Method: Select API Key or OAuth User, depending on how your team securely exposes your Spotlight gateway endpoint to external services.

3. Enable Spotlight.ai Tools for Glean Agents
  1. Once connected, Glean will fetch the tool schema from Spotlight.ai.
  2. Review the exposed debugging and trace tools.
  3. Toggle on Enable it for Agents so your engineering teams can build customized developer agents utilizing Spotlight context.
  4. (Optional) Toggle on Enable it for Glean if you want the global Glean Assistant to pull from Spotlight during standard conversational chat flows.
